芳纶纤维盘根是由杜邦Kevlar纤维经浸渍四氣乳液和用润滑剂处理再编织成方形截面而成。这种盘根比其它各种编织盘根能承担更高的介质压力。由于这种线象钢丝一样强，它可和其它种类盘根分隔安装或作为端面环，从而组成各种不同特性的盘根组。

这种盘根主要用来在泵系统内来替代石棉盘根。凡石棉盘根可用的领域它都能胜任，而且性能比石棉还要好。在恶劣的条件下，普通的石棉盘根不能提供满意的结果，而这种盘根能有较长的寿命。如在砂桨，锡矿，纸桨，发电厂的给水泵等。

BP-524 is manufactured from Du Pont’s Kevlar yam impregnated with PTFE dispersion and treated with lubricant, braided into square cross section. This packing is used in higher - pressure applications than are normally tolerated by other types of braided packings. Because of the steel - like strength of this yam, it can be employed separately or as back - up rings with other types of packing to combine different features into a packing set.

This packing has been developed to replace asbestos packing for pump systems. It covers all the service ranges which asbestos packing provides and more. It affords longer life under severe conditions which conventional asbestos packing can not provide satisfactorily，such as sand slurry tin mining, paper slurry, feed water pump of power stations, etc
