The jacket of BP - 424 is manufactured from the finest quality carbon yam with inconel wire inserted for increased temperature and pressure resistance. The surface is coated with a special compound and molybdenum trioxide is an excellent high temperature lubricant which helps prevent wicking and volume loss to the packing rings. It also is a passive agent which helps miniitiize the effects of electrolytic valve stem pitting. This valve packing is manufactured in braided jacket over core construction.

It is so advanced, it outperforms other comparable high temperature valve stem packings.
